Job Summary:  

Foreclosure Prevention Advocate Assistants (FPAA) work directly with Cleveland FPAs and ESOP homeowners to secure all necessary information and documentation to effect a complete file for a “workout.”  FPAAs are often the first point of contact to ESOP homeowners, and frequently act as a liaison between ESOP FPAs, ESOP homeowners, and ESOP Satellite FPAs.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  1. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  2. Ability to work extended hours/ weekends when needed (rare)
  3. Must have experience with Microsoft Windows  XP, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  4. Must be a team player, willing to assist other team members tasks
  5. Must have ability to work with little supervision
  6. Must have good verbal and written communication skills / phone skills
  7. Must be organized and have good time management
  8. Knowledge of home mortgage process and lending practices preferred

  • Retrieve intake documents via email, postal mail or fax.
  • Assemble file documents in specified order and review file for essential information.
  • Initiate follow up with Satellite FPA or homeowners if additional information needed.
  • Create new files in HCO database by  completing Contact Information and Summary tabs
  • Forward to credit reporting staff person
  • Assist with document printing, sorting when needed
  • Monitor Microsoft Outlook for incoming files from Satellite Offices and other sources
  • Answer incoming phone calls and return homeowner calls
  • Enter data into HCO and/or Restoring Stability databases at times of high volume
  • Schedule homeowners for intakes, as necessary
  • Any other duties assigned, not listed above

Minimum Requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Must excel at working independently and as part of a larger, coordinated effort
  • Must be proficient with complete Microsoft Office software package and be comfortable communicating, primarily by email
  • Experience leading individuals in a fast paced, high stakes environment
  • Federal, state, and foundation grant funding compliance and reporting experience is a plus
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Prior clerical experience is strongly desired, preferably in a related field
