The Concerned Citizens were formed in April of 2010 residents in the Mt Pleasant community wanted to know more about what was happening in their neighborhood.
Utilizing grassroots organizing, neighborhood residents took to the streets with ESOP Community Organizers to drum up interest in holding officials accountable for their actions in the neighborhood.
To date, the Concerned Citizens have 120 active members who have brought about multiple changes to the quality of life of all residents living in the community. The group is led by neighborhood residents who have empowered themselves to create the change which they would like to see in their community; from drug busts and the removal of guns off the streets , to a neighborhood police foot-patrol along Kinsman Rd., and the clean-up and board-up of vacant and abandoned properties.
